Faculty recital Nov. 11 features Sturm, Larson

Glenn Korff School of Music faculty members Hans Sturm and Tom Larson will present a faculty recital on Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital, room 119.

The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be live webcast.

Sturm is the Hixson-Lied Professor of Double Bass and Jazz Studies. He has performed as a soloist, chamber, orchestral, jazz and improvisational musician throughout Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, Africa and the United States.

Larson is associate professor of composition, emerging media and digital arts. Before becoming a faculty member at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he was the co-owner of Studio Q Recording in Lincoln, producing music for TV and radio advertising, industrial videos and documentary films.

For their Nov. 11 program, Sturm and Larson will be performing works from the iconic Bill Evans’ recording, “Sunday at the Village Vanguard,” as well as some new compositions.
