The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be live webcast.

The ensemble includes Suna Gunther, vocals and alto sax; Paul Haar, tenor sax; Dave Hall, drums; Tom Larson, piano; Greg Simon, trumpet; Hans Sturm, bass; and Darryl White, trumpet.

Comprised of some of the nation’s finest performers and educators, the Faculty Jazz Ensemble drew national attention in 2010 with their appearance on the NET Television and Glenn Korff School of Music program, “Jazz Cabaret,” which has been viewed by millions.

For the Nov. 8 concert, the Faculty Jazz Ensemble will be premiering original works by Sturm and Larson, as well as original arrangements of jazz standards. Their concert will also include a tribute to Bill Wimmer, a local jazz saxophonist who passed away earlier this year.
