Faculty invited to open educational resource presentation April 6

Love Library South
Love Library South will host Karen Gardner-Athey April 6.

Open Educational Resources are a means to alleviate some of the expenses of course textbooks and materials, with the goal to improve student retention and success.

Twenty faculty are invited to join Karen Gardner-Athey from the State University of New York, Office of Library and Information Services for a hands-on workshop 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 6 in 221 Love Library South.

Lunch will be included. Space is limited and registration is required.

The workshop will provide attendees with an understanding of the resources, how to identify and work with the materials as well as ensure they are properly licensed.

Attendees will review student course learning objectives as they search for open materials and plan how to implement those materials into their courses.

The workshop will teach participants how to identify steps for assessing, preparing and incorporating the resources.

The participants will also leave with the start to a plan to implement open educational resources into their courses
