The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor has announced a call for funding proposals for courses offered in the Spring 2025 Pre-Session.

In preparation for the 2024-25 academic year, the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor has announced a call for funding proposals for courses offered in the Spring 2025 Pre-Session.

Adjustments to the 2024-25 academic calendar include 15-week fall and spring semesters and a spring pre-session from Jan. 2-17, 2025. Courses may be offered in-person, online or through web conferencing. Additional approvals are not required for using the web conferencing delivery method.

Proposals should be submitted online and are due Sept. 5. Funding for any pre-session course will be considered but will be prioritized for courses that support the university's academic mission and advance N2025 goals in the following categories:

  • Achievement-Centered Education — General education courses that are certified to fulfill an ACE program requirement.
  • Career Enhancement — Courses that enhance career-readiness, covering discipline-specific topics as well as communication, technology, and leadership skills.
  • Degree Completion — Courses necessary for graduation that tend to fill up quickly during the regular fall and spring semesters.
  • Experiential Learning — Designed to help students explore the world beyond the classroom, these courses also fulfill the new undergraduate experiential learning requirement that began for students entering UNL in fall 2022.

Proposals will also be prioritized and approved by college’s dean’s offices. Contact executivevcoffice@unl.edu with questions.
