Matt Waite (right), founder of Nebraska’s Drone Journalism Lab — the first of its kind in the country — helps North Platte high schooler Linkon Kuhn (center) pilot a drone as Miles Durkin of Chicago looks on.
The students got hands-on time with the drone while attending a Big Red Summer Academic Camp. Coordinated by Nebraska 4-H, the camps give high school students and recent graduates a chance to spend a week at the university while exploring potential career fields, from digital media to STEM to sustainable fashion.
