Drive-through option helps Huskers maintain nutrition regimens
Staff providing training table meals to Huskers have launched a drive-through service that allows student-athletes to continue nutrition regimens and limit exposure to the 2019 novel coronavirus.
“Our performance nutrition team is out here on the curb today delivering all the food that our athletes would need per day,” said David Ellis, director of Nebraska Performance Nutrition. “It’s a seven-day-a-week operation while we’re in the COVID-19 crisis.”
The service is following federal, state and local guidelines related to public health safety. And along with food, the Performance Nutrition staff are also providing tips on how to clean surfaces, including the interiors of cars the student-athletes drive to pick up meals.
