Dance Marathon opens doors to faculty, staff participation

A look at one of UNDM's infamous rave hours
The HuskerThon is the largest student philanthropic event on campus and has raised more than a million dollars since the annual event began 15 years ago.

The University of Nebraska Dance Marathon is seeking greater involvement from faculty and staff.

A student-run organization, Dance Marathon is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The group hosts multiple events each year, culminating in a 13.1 hour HuskerThon celebration during which Huskers and kids who have been treated at Children’s Hospital come together to celebrate the money raised and dance the night away.

Faculty and staff can learn more about the project during a Dance Marathon block party, 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Dinsdale Family Learning Commons, which is the green space north of the Nebraska Union. The event, which is free, will include food, interaction with puppies, yard games, performances and minute-to-win-it games.
