Following a 44-year career with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Diane Ciecior will retire at the end of January. She started her employment as a student worker in 1977.

She worked in Student Housing before joining Business and Finance, where she has spent the remainder of her 44-year career. During her tenure, Ciecior has navigated significant changes in the workplace — most notably, the implementation of SAP. During that time, she served as the interim accounting director.

Ciecior’s deep knowledge of the system and ability to problem solve, quickly garnered her as the subject matter expert for the entire university system. Ciecior’s patience and knowledge has always lead her to be a natural and respected teacher, and she has spent thousands of hours training business staff and advising leadership regarding financial operations.
