For the last four years, third-year law students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Law have gained real courtroom experience as guardians ad litem in neglect and abuse cases through the Children’s Justice Clinic.

The clinic began in 2017 with efforts focused in Lancaster County, but is now serving greater Nebraska.

“The success of the Children’s Justice Clinic prompted us to expand the program to our rural communities who desperately need attorneys to be effective advocates in the juvenile court,” Michelle Paxton, clinic director, said.
