Chancellor address, campus safety highlight faculty senate agenda

Editor’s Note — A previous version of this story reported the wrong date for the faculty senate meeting. The story below has been updated.

Chancellor Ronnie Green will address the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Faculty Senate during its 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6 meeting in the East Union Arbor Suite.

Established in 1974, the Faculty Senate is a representative body of members elected by the faculty of Nebraska’s academic units. The senate is the university’s governing agency for dealing with issues that impact more than one college. It also acts as the official voice of the faculty.

The Dec. 6 agenda also includes a presentation on campus safety by Owen Yardley, chief of police. Scheduled committee reports include: Academic Rights and Responsibilities, Rebecca Bernthal, associate professor of university libraries; Academic Standards, Katie Kerr, director of the exploratory and pre-professional advising center; and University Conduct Board, Matt Hecker, dean of students.

Faculty senate meetings are open to the public.
