The Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools has released its annual report for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Through all the societal changes of the past few years, the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools has remained focused on its mission to impact lives through research that advances learning and development.

With diverse partners in research, practice and policy, the center continues to address the social, behavioral and educational needs of communities in Nebraska and beyond, leveraging research and collaboration to make a difference in the lives of others — from birth to adulthood.

The center’s annual report for the 2022-23 fiscal year, which spanned July 2022 to June 2023, is now available.

This year’s report provides a look at some of the life-changing research conducted in partnership with the center in impact areas of early childhood, health equity and wellness and communities.

Stories featured in the report showcase life-changing research conducted in partnership with the center. Recent work, spanning Nebraska, the U.S. and the globe, that address critical issues such as special education teacher shortages, rural mental health support, parent-teacher relationships, student bullying, family mealtimes, child sex trafficking prevention and inclusive health care for refugees.

With campuswide priorities in mind, along with the strategic visions outlined by the College of Education and Human Sciences, the center continues to engage with its partners to find solutions to society’s challenges associated with anti-racism and racial equity; early childhood education and development; health equity and wellness; science and technology literacy; and communities.
