BroadCAST, a webinar interview series from the Center for Academic Success and Transition, will feature Jim Hanna, an actor and University of Nebraska–Lincoln alumnus, from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 29. The interview will be available to watch here.

Hanna was born and raised in Lincoln and graduated from Nebraska U in 1991 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in theater. He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Southern California. He now lives and works in Los Angeles.

Hanna has been a working actor for the last 20 years, appearing in dozens of commercials as well as many TV shows and films. Some of his recent credits include “Hunters” (Amazon Prime), “Bless This Mess” (ABC), “Perry Mason” (HBO), “Station 19” (ABC) and “Seal Team” (CBS). Hanna also acts regularly on stage, primarily via the Hollywood Fringe Festival where he has written and produced three award=winning plays.

Launched in fall 2020, BroadCAST features conversations about education and the value of the liberal arts between the Center for Academic Success and Transition’s Dan Hutt and highly successful guests from diverse backgrounds. The program lineup has featured Bob Kerrey, former Nebraska governor and U.S. senator; Riko Bishop, Nebraska appeals court judge; Chuck Hagel, former U.S. secretary of defense and U.S. senator; and Leirion Gaylor Baird, mayor of Lincoln.

The fall 2021 schedule includes Hanna; Jake Slichter, drummer with Semisonic and an author; and Annette Murrell, jazz singer and NET Radio host.

All webinars are recorded and made available on the Center for Academic Success and Transition’s YouTube channel.
