Brass Quintet to present fall recital

University of Nebraska Brass Quintet

The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet will present a fall recital at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in Kimball Recital Hall.

The quintet will be performing music by well-known and new composers. The group will show Scott Quackenbush’s transcription of Jean Sibelius’ Andante Festivo and a composition by Patrice Caratini titled “Passages.” The quintet will also perform “Quintetto Lirico,” a rare work that is lyrical and virtuosic.

The quintet is dedicated to the performance of original repertoire works and new music for brass quintet. The quintet has also been active in commissioning new works. The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet is comprised of faculty members Scott Quackenbush and K. Craig Bircher on trumpet, Alan Mattingly on horn, Scott Anderson on trombone and Craig Fuller on tuba.

This event is free and open to the public.

There will be a live webcast the night of the performance. Click here for more information about more music events.
