The University of Nebraska–Lincoln seeks faculty applicants for the Big Ten Academic Alliance’s Academic Leadership Program.

The program is designed to further develop the abilities of participants to be effective academic leaders at all levels of research universities. It is intended to help developing leaders understand the university as a dynamic and inclusive institution and build awareness of the diverse, complex, and changing landscape of higher education while exploring their role in that landscape.

Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in academic leadership and some leadership experience.

Up to five ALP fellows will attend a combination of virtual and in-person events with the BTAA. They will also participate in conversations on campus throughout the academic year with members of the UNL leadership team. Applicants must be available for all scheduled BTAA programming: a virtual welcome session on Oct. 18, followed by in-person seminars Nov. 7-9 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Feb. 6-8, 2025 at the Big Ten Conference Center in Rosemont, Illinois, and April 3-5, 2025 at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.

Interested applicants should complete an online application, which includes submitting their letter of interest and current curriculum vitae, by April 15. They should also request that a brief letter of support for their application be sent by their department executive officer or dean to facultyaffairs@unl.edu by April 15.

For a second year, the BTAA has a grant from the Mellon Foundation that will provide an enhanced two-year experience to select ALP fellows who work in humanities disciplines. Applicants from the humanities who are interested in being considered for this enhanced program should indicate so when completing the online application form.
