Katie Brossy, 2001 University of Nebraska–Lincoln graduate, will give a Big Red Talk Nov. 8.

Katie Brossy, a 2001 University of Nebraska–Lincoln alumna, will share how her Nebraska experience led her to pursue her passions for Native American heritage through law and advocacy in the Big Red Talk at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Nebraska Union Auditorium.

Brossy was a member of the legal team that helped reach one of the largest Indian water rights settlements in United States history, which provided $460 million to the Crow Tribe. Recently Brossy was named one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 by Trending in Washington, D.C., and a Woman of Distinction by the Lyre magazine, the national publication for Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Big Red Talks is a speaker series hosted by Student Affairs to showcase the formative impact of experiences outside the classroom. The goal is to inspire the campus community through brief stories followed by dialogue with speakers.

The event is free and open to the public. After the presentation, the Office of Academic Success and Intercultural Services and the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life will host a dessert reception at the Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.
