Bangladesh Student Association raises money for homeland

.

The Bangladesh Student Association at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is asking for support in response to the challenges that Bangladesh — a country with three-quarters the land but 82 times the population of Nebraska — is confronting in the wake of COVID-19.

That population density places Bangladesh at extreme risk from the novel coronavirus. Up to 50% of the country’s population is now facing financial difficulties driven by widespread lockdowns, the association said, and limited resources are available to feed and provide personal protective equipment for the country’s many low-income citizens.

Even a $5 donation is enough to provide lunch for 15 Bangladeshis, which can help fulfill the association’s mission of saving as many lives as possible throughout the pandemic.

Donations can be made via the UNL Marketplace or sent via PayPal to bsa@unl.edu. To submit questions about the fundraising efforts, send email to bsa@unl.edu.
