Cadets with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Army ROTC program will host a campuswide “Murph” Hero Workout at 7 a.m. May 2.

The workout honors Lt. Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in 2005 in Afghanistan. Participants will run a mile, complete 100 pull ups, 200 push-ups and 300 squats, then run another mile wearing a 20-pound weight vest.

All students, faculty and staff are welcome to participate. A liability waiver must be signed at the event and weighted vests will not be provided.

The workout will begin at the Pershing Military and Naval Science Building. Enter on the north side via the “Well Deck” garage door.
