This photo of Architecture Hall (formerly Library Hall) from May 1924, is among the historical records available through the University Archives and Special Collections. A variety of online resources are now available for students, faculty, staff and the public who may be researching university history.

The University Archives and Special Collections has organized online resources to assist with historical research into University of Nebraska–Lincoln departments, programs, colleges and units.

Details on important people on campus, significant events, evolution of programs and student activities are available on the Archives and Special Collections webpage. The information has been gathered ahead of the university’s 150th anniversary celebration in 2019.

Examples of the resources available include university yearbooks, which are searchable across multiple yearbooks or within just one. The yearbook series runs from the 1890s to the 1970s. Also available are online newspapers, such as The Daily Nebraskan and earlier titles.

The website, Nebraska U: A Collaborative History, presents online student exhibits highlighting various topics of the university’s history including Ivy Days, the recall of the 1912 yearbook, the history of Morrill Hall and other topics.

Rounding out the resources are an architectural tour of the university, with more than 1,000 digitized photographs from the Archives collection, and “Finding Aids” for university records.
