The designs of architecture students will be featured in the Nov. 4 First Friday Artwalk.
From 5 to 8 p.m., student work from the College of Architecture’s collaborative and design research studios will be on display in Architecture Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Great Plains Art Museum — The museum opens “Glimpses of the Southwest: Native American Art From the Permanent Collection,” on Nov. 4. The museum will also host a meet-and-greet reception with Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, a Chickasaw classical composer, from 5 to 7 p.m. Impichchaachaaha’ will perform his “Standing Bear: A Ponca Indian Cantata” at 7 p.m. in Johnny Carson Theater. Sheldon Museum of Art — The museum will offer a special program exploring artist Saya Wollfalk’s fictional universe on display in the “ChimaTEK: Kaleidoscopic Camouflage” exhibition. Led by Sheldon’s student guides, the event will include a virtual reality station, a collage poster creation area and refreshments. For more information, click here.
International Quilt Study Center and Museum — The museum will host an opening reception for the “Contemporary Quilt Festival Collection” from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event will include a 5:30 p.m. lecture by Sandra Sider, curator for the Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange, Texas. The talk will explore Sider’s recent research on art quilts owned by public institutions. For more information, click here.
