Annual, daily campus security reports available for review

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Police Department has released the annual campus security and fire safety report. The 2019 report, which is available online, contains the university’s crime and fire statistics for the last three years.

Free paper copies are also available by request from University Police during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, at 300 N. 17th St., or by sending an email to unl.police@unl.edu.

The report includes a list of resources available to victims of crimes; various campus policy statements; links to sex offender registries; tips on how to avoid being a victim of a crime; information on how to report crimes; and details about campus programs on safety, security, drugs/alcohol, disciplinary procedures, fire safety and evacuations. It also contains all of the information required by the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989.

Police encourage the campus community and members of the public to review the report, which includes a range of matters of importance related to security and safety on campus.

The university also maintains a daily crime and fire record. Names and specific locations such as residence hall room numbers are not included in the daily record. The log can be viewed online or in hard copy form at police headquarters during normal business hours.

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Police Department offers additional reports and statistics related to security on campus, including an archive of timely warnings and uniform crime reporting statistics. Learn more about these and other reports.
