A data breach announced July 23 by Lincoln-based Ameritas Life Insurance Corp., the third-party administrator for the University of Nebraska’s dental plan, appears to have had a minimal impact on university employees.

Ameritas informed the university that a single employee was among those whose personal information was potentially exposed as a result of the breach. That employee, whose identity and campus affiliation is not known, has been notified by Ameritas and offered the appropriate precautions.

Employees who have not received notification from Ameritas should assume their data was not exposed. Those with questions may review additional information provided by Ameritas online by calling 800-487-5553.
