Alumni, Business and Finance lead Combined Campaign participation

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s chase for the Chancellor’s Cup roared into its second week as the Nebraska Alumni Association approached perfect participation, and Business and Finance surged into the Large Division lead.

The friendly competition is part of the university’s participation in the 2021-22 Combined Campaign for Health and Human Services. The university is a longtime participant in the community fundraiser, which continues through Nov. 12.

To encourage participation by faculty and staff, weekly individual prizes are being awarded and the Chancellor’s Cup will be presented to the campus division that records the greatest number of employees who donate.

Individual prize winners, selected randomly from all faculty and staff who participated — whether they donated or not — in the second week of the campaign are:

  • Linda Aden, training and documentation specialist, University of Nebraska System, one pair of Husker football tickets;
  • Sara Skretta, certification officer, Education and Human Sciences, one pair of Husker volleyball tickets; and
  • Nathan Morris, manager, enterprise desktop services, Information Technology Services, one pair of Lied Center tickets.

Individual prize winners, selected randomly from all faculty and staff who participated — whether they donated or not — in the second week of the campaign will be announced. The winners are selected each week of the campaign.

The team competition is divided into two divisions based on unit size — large and small. The top five through the second week in each division are listed below

Large Division

  • Business and Finance, 39% (up from 13.5%)
  • Academic Affairs, 31.2% (up from 16.2%)
  • Central Administration, 30% (up from 15%)
  • Student Affairs, 27.8% (up from 15.8%)
  • Arts and Sciences, 24.7% (up from 13.2%)

Small Division

  • Alumni Association, 95.7% (up from 78.3%)
  • Law, 58.3% (up from 47.1%)
  • Architecture, 55.3% (up from 37.8%)
  • Chancellor’s Office, 37.7% (up from 21.8%)
  • Fine and Performing Arts, 11.3% (up from 6%))

The annual United Way/Combined Health Agencies Drive of Nebraska campaign benefits more than 130 local agencies that assist members of the community.

“This is our special opportunity to focus on how we can give back to Lincoln and Lancaster County,” Chancellor Ronnie Green said. “Your gift to the Combined Campaign makes a real impact on the health, education and financial stability of your neighbors. Every dollar helps people in Lincoln and Lancaster County get support, stabilize home life and move forward to lead positive, productive lives.”

Co-chairs for the university’s Combined Campaign are Mike and Connie Boehm, and Kathy Farrell and Sam Allgood.
