Abbreviated phone dialing to state offices ends Aug. 30

Phones at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln can no longer dial State of Nebraska office numbers using the abbreviated dialing system.

To reach a State of Nebraska number, university users must dial a 9 followed by the 10-digit office phone number. Previously, campus users could connect to state office phones by dialing a 1 then the last four digits of the phone number.

The change, which started Aug. 30, is due to changes in the State of Nebraska telecommunications system.
