5 Things to Do in December

Five things to do

With several sports in full swing, cheering on Husker Athletics is a great way to break up your December.

Bring on the holiday cheer and finish the semester strong with special meals, donations and enjoying the festive atmospheres.

Cheer on the Huskers

Between basketball, swimming and diving, wrestling, track and field and volleyball, there are plenty of opportunities to wear your favorite Nebraska apparel and cheer on Husker student athletes this month. Check out huskers.com for a full schedule of upcoming events!

Attend University Dining’s holiday meal

Dec. 6

Celebrate the end of the fall semester by joining UNL Dining Services for a delicious Holiday Meal in our dining centers! To enjoy the Holiday meal, come to the dining center and scan your NCard like any other all-you-care-to-eat location. Abel Dining Center will serve dinner from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Cather and Harper dining centers will serve dinner from 4:30–8 p.m. Dinner is included with a meal plan. Guest prices available online.

Zoo Lights

Throughout December, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo is transformed into a magical, stunning holiday light show that is sure to fill you with wonder and awe. It’s the perfect event to break up the rigors of finals prep and get you into the holiday spirit.

Support a favorite cause

It’s the season of giving, and there are plenty of easy ways to give back to our Husker community throughout the month. The Husker Pantry accepts drop-off donations or purchases from their Amazon wish list, while the Career Closet and Lavender Closet are both accepting clothing donations.

Go bowling on East Campus

Free to students on weekday evenings and weekends, the east campus is a fun, cheap way to break up your busy December. Learn more and reserve lanes.
