Big Ten Network welcome

Big Ten Network Letter to the Editor

The date the Big Ten Network launched – August 30, 2007 – was a significant milestone in our young history. Today is another.

With Nebraska now a part of the Big Ten Conference, BTN has a 12th strong partner in producing compelling content that showcases the powerhouse that is the Big Ten.

Last year alone, the BTN televised over 600 events and streamed 500 events on BTN.com. All Big Ten football and men’s home basketball games are televised to a national audience. The BTN airs more women’s sports and Olympic sports than any other network, giving national exposure to many sports that otherwise would not be televised.

Now available to more than 75 million homes across the U.S. and Canada, the BTN begins its fifth season on the air. That means another year of bringing Big Ten tradition, heritage and history, now including Nebraska, to sports fans everywhere.

Today and over the weekend, BTN will feature some of the greatest games in Nebraska history, along with a one-hour special with interviews and stories of its rich athletic tradition.

We welcome Nebraska to the Big Ten family and look forward to providing more Nebraska coverage than ever before.

Mark Silverman President Big Ten Network
