Amy Millmier Schmidt is a livestock bioenvironmental engineer with expertise in animal manure management systems. An award-winning scientist, Schmidt studies water quality and the fate and transport of nutrients and pathogens. Her integrated extension program focuses on supporting evidence-based decision-making at the nexus of livestock systems, cropping systems and communities. (Updated November 2024.)

Bio
Aaron Mittelstet is an award-winning associate professor of biological systems engineering and a courtesy professor with the School of Natural Resources. His expertise includes watershed modeling, interaction between surface and groundwater, water quality and streambank erosion. He has published research on pesticide exposure in recreational lakes and on interventions for reducing nutrients, Atrazine and E. Coli concentrations in a watershed. (Updated November 2024.)
