Bio

Kathryn Holland is the director of the Sexual Assault and Sexual Health (SASH) Lab, where she and her students study a variety of issues related to sexual assault and sexual health—with the goal of helping people (especially those who are marginalized by their gender and/or sexual identities) live safer and healthier lives by understanding and changing oppressive social institutions and systems. Holland joined the university faculty in 2017 and is an associate professor jointly appointed in the Department of Psychology and the Women’s & Gender Studies Program. She works within both disciplines to investigate how people’s health and wellbeing are influenced by their social environments, including formal support systems, social norms, and interpersonal processes.
