John Anderson, the Baird Family Professor of Economics at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, serves as the executive director of the Central Plains Research Data Center (CPRDC), located at UNL and part of the federal statistical research data network. He is an expert in housing economics, urban economics, tax policy and public finance.
Anderson’s academic research and policy advising have been published in more than one hundred journal articles, books, book chapters, and government reports. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics at Western Michigan University and his Ph.D. in economics at Claremont Graduate University. He is an economist and an adviser to public policymakers in the fields of public finance, fiscal reform, and tax policy. (Updated March 2025)
