Adam Thimmesch focuses on state tax policy and how legal structures, state governments and residents are affected by modern technology and markets. He served as chair of the American Association of Law Schools' section on taxation in 2022 and was reporter for the Uniform Law Commission's study committee on online sales taxation in 2020. Thimmesch regularly testifies before state legislative committees and advises legislators and policy groups on state tax matters. An award-winning instructor, he teaches individual income taxation, state and local taxation and taxation of business entities, along with a class on business law for College of Business honor students. He is faculty director of the Law+Business progam, for students who are interested in transactional law or in other careers outside traditional law practice. As a private-practice attorney in Minneapolis, he focused on tax and business matters. (Updated November 2024)
