Scott Gardner's research is focused on the evolutionary relationships among Holarctic and Neotropical mammals and their parasite faunas. He also investigates questions of mammalian parasite biodiversity by generating and combining data on the phylogenetic, biogeographic, and ecological relationships of hosts and parasites. He has interests in the ecology and systematics of parasites of mammals world-wide and for the past several years been engaged in studies of the helminth parasites of ctenomid and geomyoid rodents and their relatives.
