Bio: 

Phyllis Larsen, a professor of practice with the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, teaches public relations and other integrated marketing communication courses in the classroom, online and study abroad. She is a communication consultant and workshop presenter, specializing in non-profit organizations, with more than 25 years experience as a communications professional. Larsen served as the UNL's director of public relations from 1993 to 2000, supervising a 25-person staff responsible for crisis communication and institutional reputation management, among other communications functions.

Bio: 

Dane Kiambi, an assistant professor of public relations in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, has a keen interest in the role and impact of public relations and strategic communications in fostering democracy, good governance, economic growth and healthy lifestyles, particularly in the developing world. A native of Kenya, Kiambi is a former news reporter and media executive in Nairobi. His research interests are in reputation management, crisis communication, international communication and health communication.
