Humberto Blanco is a professor of soil management and applied soil physics whose research focuses on agricultural practices. He can speak about soil processes and properties; water and wind erosion; water quality parameters; soil-water management; soil-water-nutrient-plant relationships; and soil carbon dynamics under different management practices, such as crop residue removal for livestock and biofuel production, cover crops, cover crop grazing, conservation tillage, cropping systems, organic farming, inorganic fertilization, conservation buffers, dedicated biofuel crops, and organic amendments. A member of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln faculty since 2012, Blanco has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and received awards for his research in 2012 and 2016. He is an associate editor for Bioenergy Research and is an active member of the Soil Science Society of America.
