Nearly 1,000 university employees are being honored as part of the 2020 Service Awards. The annual Human Resources event honors employees for their years of service in five-year increments.

Chancellor Ronnie Green will host a virtual, university-wide Celebration of Service, honoring nearly 1,000 faculty and staff, starting Oct. 19.

Following COVID-19 protocols for large campus events, it will be a virtual celebration. Along with a dedicated website, the Celebration of Service will feature several videos, including the annual look back in time by Rick Alloway, professor of broadcasting. A celebratory website will be unveiled for the Service Awards event. The URL will be announced.

“This is an exceptional time, and I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate the work you are doing,” Chancellor Ronnie Green said in an email to campus. “Thank you, on behalf of all the students and constituents whom you touch with your work. Thank you for your continued excellence, your commitment to all in our university community and your belief in our mission every day.”

Award recipients — which are earned in increments of five years, spanning from 55 to 5 years for the Oct. 19 event — should have received an email from Human Resources explaining how each award will be delivered. Learn more here.
