The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra will perform their season finale, “Beethoven’s ‘Eroica,’” at 7:30 p.m. May 10 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 M St. in Lincoln.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The Symphony Orchestra is under the direction of Tyler White, professor of composition and conducting and director of orchestras. Ramón Araújo, Kate Mathews and Manuel Monge-Mata are the graduate associate conductors.
In addition to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major, Op. 55 “Eroica,” the program also includes Richard Wagner’s “Lohengrin: Prelude to Act III” and Edvard Grieg’s “Symphonic Dances, Op. 64.”
The “Eroica” symphony is one of Beethoven’s most celebrated works.
