Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to use UNL Report to communicate campus concerns they believe should be addressed or brought to the university’s attention.
UNL Report is available through the permanent link in the footer of every UNL.edu webpage and in the Nebraska app. Reports may be submitted anonymously and are reviewed by trained university staff, who route each submission to the appropriate department based on the nature of the concern. Individuals who would like follow-up may choose to include their contact information.
UNL Report can be used to report a variety of concerns, including facility issues, safety hazards, inappropriate behavior and other situations that may affect the campus community. Examples include an overflowing trash container, a damaged sidewalk, a malfunctioning sprinkler head or inappropriate statements made toward others.
The reporting system also provides direct access to campus resources, including the University Police Department and mental health services. Because reports are reviewed and routed by university staff, they may not receive an immediate response.
UNL Report should not be used to report emergencies or crimes in progress. In an emergency, call 911 immediately or contact the University Police Department at 402-472-2222 (or 2-2222 from an on-campus phone).
Nebraska is among many colleges and universities that offer a centralized reporting system to help address campus concerns. Every report is carefully reviewed by appropriate university staff and can help improve awareness and identify solutions across campus.

Members of the university community also are encouraged to sign up for UNL Alert, the university’s emergency notification system. UNL Alert sends text messages and emails to designated devices and accounts during campus emergencies and weather-related closures.
