The University of Nebraska will celebrate the completion of a new complex housing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Health Center and the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Lincoln Division with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony July 10.
The ceremony, which is open to the university community and the public, begins at 1 p.m. at 550 N. 19th Street in Lincoln. Self-guided tours of the new facility will be available from 2 to 4 p.m.
Speakers will include NU President Hank Bounds, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Ronnie Green, Medical Center Chancellor Jeffrey Gold, College of Nursing Dean Juliann Sebastian, UNL Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Laurie Bellows, NU Foundation President and CEO Brian Hastings and Nebraska Medicine CEO Dan DeBehnke.
The University Health Center will be closed from 5 p.m. July 11 until 8 a.m. July 16 while moving into the new facility.
For urgent medical or mental health concerns while the health center is closed, students can call 402-472-5000 to speak to an on-call nurse or counselor. For medical or mental health emergencies, call 911.
