The University Libraries will be offering a series of workshops and drop-in sessions open to faculty, graduate and undergraduate students that focus on the benefits of Open Access. Publishing agreements, open data, open science, book publishing and incorporating open or low-cost materials in the curriculum are just a few of the topics covered by the programs in the series.
OA refers to the free online availability of scholarly research, coupled with the rights to use it fully in the digital environment. OA Week is an annual event to celebrate and promote understanding of OA and making it the new normal in scholarship and research.
“The programs we are offering show the firm commitment the UNL Libraries is making to growing and expanding Open Access,” said Sue Gardner, professor with University Libraries and one of the organizers of this series.
