Friends of Maxwell Arboretum and University of Nebraska–Lincoln Landscape Services are partnering to hold a public event, the TREE-mendous Celebration in Earl G. Maxwell Arboretum, located on East Campus.
The free family-friendly event is 4-6 p.m. Oct. 24.
The event aims to be fun for all ages and will include:
- Children’s activities
- Tree-climbing demonstration
- Tree-planting demonstration
- Tree seedlings
- Food and drink, including Kimmel Orchard cider
- Appearances from Archie the Mastodon and Smokey Bear
Volunteers also will be available at Maxwell Arboretum to answer questions.
Parking will be available in the west parking lot of the Dental School. Limited parking will also be available at the Food Industry Complex and East Campus Loop.
