Two new French films, “The Sower” and “The Competition,” open March 29 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.
“The Competition”
“The Competition” is a documentary that captures the story behind La Fémis, one of the most prestigious film schools in the world, and the hundreds of hopeful applicants vying for a spot in the program. The film offers a unique look into the school’s intense selection process and what it takes to succeed in the film industry.
“The Competition” shows through April 4.
“The Sower”
The winner of the New Director competition at the San Sebastian Film Festival, “The Sower” is a historical romance set in a remote mountain farming village in France. After the men of their village are arrested, the women spend years in total isolation until a mysterious stranger arrives.
