Applications are being accepted for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s first Science Slam. The campus-wide contest, designed to allow student researchers to communicate their work through short presentations, is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16 in the Nebraska Union, Colonial Room.
The event is free and open to the campus community.
Participation in the Science Slam is open to graduate and undergraduate researchers for all scientific disciplines — including, but not limited to, mathematics, engineering and the social sciences. The goal is to communicate and promote UNL research across the divides of discipline, expertise and skill level.
Presenter applications are being accepted through Feb. 25. Finalists will be announced March 1. Then the winner will be decided by the audience at the Science Slam on March 16.
Finalists will each receive $50 prizes, with the winner earning an additional $250
There is no registration deadline to attend the event, but space is limited. A buffet will be provided.
