The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Staff Senate will hold its first meeting of the 2026-27 academic year from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Nebraska Union's Swanson Auditorium. The meeting is open to all staff members.
Staff Senate meetings will have a new format, with more time dedicated to hearing directly from staff and supporting the senate’s commitment to representation and shared governance.
Two opportunities during each meeting will allow senators, affiliates and members of the staff assembly to participate. The first will be an open-mic session for sharing good news from across campus. Later in the meeting, staff will have an opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns and share observations.
Staff members who would like to speak during either session can email staffsenate@unl.edu to be added to the agenda or sign up when they arrive. Speakers will have up to three minutes to share thoughts, offer insights or ask questions.
The Sept. 10 agenda also includes presentation of the Staff Senate Presidential Citation Award for August, reports from the Internal Affairs and Workplace Culture committees, a discussion of the Staff Senate budget and a review of senate priorities for the academic year.
Staff members may email staffsenate@unl.edu or contact the Staff Senate through its website at any time to bring a specific topic to the senate’s attention.
