Nebraska’s Spring Affair is the largest plant sale in the Midwest, and this year, all 800+ plant varieties are going online.
The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum sponsors the annual event. Gardeners can put plants in their shopping cart before April 19 and select a pickup time slot between April 23 and April 25 at Lincoln’s Lancaster Event Center.
“Gardening is one of those things that absorbs our mind, imagination and energy enough to distract us, if just for a little bit, from all that is going on in the world,” said Nebraska Statewide Arboretum interim director Hanna Pinneo. “There’s no better year to start or enhance your garden.”
A full list of available plants is available on the arboretum website.
“Gardens are the perfect place to do all the things that help ourselves and neighbor. They’re perfect for social distancing, self-quarantining and more importantly, and to help us focus on larger things that take us away from the day’s worries,” Pinneo said.
