South Korean pianist Mi-jung Im will perform a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in Kimball Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Im’s recital will feature two works by North Korean composers — “Fly High, White Dove” and “Arirang” — along with piano sonatas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Frederic Chopin.
Currently serving as dean and professor in the music department at Hansei University, Im is a prominent pianist whose top awards include first prize at the 1997 San Antonio International Piano Competition and the Dong-A Piano Competition in Korea. Since her debut recital in Seoul and New York City, she has appeared on over 300 concert stages internationally as a soloist and a chamber musician.
