The University of Nebraska–Lincoln has named Monique L. Snowden permanent associate vice chancellor for academic services and enrollment management effective Sept. 1, pending University of Nebraska Board of Regents approval.
Mark Button, executive vice chancellor and chief academic officer, made the announcement on Aug. 31. Snowden has served as interim in the role since Sept. 3, 2024.
In the two years Snowden has held the interim position, the university has achieved increases in undergraduate applications, admits, and enrollment during a period of significant demographic, financial and competitive challenges across higher education.
"Monique's comprehensive understanding of our enrollment environment, fiscal realities, strategic priorities and stakeholder relationships has established her as a trusted and highly effective senior leader," Button said. "She has also provided stable leadership within Academic Services and Enrollment Management, filling key positions that are critical to continued momentum on our enrollment strategic initiatives."
Much of that success is due to Snowden's strong partnerships with colleges, campus partners, Nebraska Extension and the NU system. The collaborative relationships have been key to her successfully overseeing projects, such as the intricate and essential work of moving to a single Program Participation Agreement for Title IV financial aid distribution for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and University of Nebraska Medical Center joint accreditation.

Snowden has served in higher education leadership for nearly three decades. She came to Nebraska as a member of The Registry, an organization that places highly qualified, veteran executives in college and university interim leadership assignments.
Previously, Snowden has served as senior vice chancellor for strategic enrollment and student success at the University of Colorado Denver; provost and senior vice president, vice president for institutional planning and effectiveness, and inaugural associate provost for enrollment management at Fielding Graduate University; assistant dean of enrollment management at Northwestern University School of Professional Studies; and held various administrator positions in admissions, financial aid and scholarships, enrollment research, and enterprise enrollment technologies at Texas A&M University.
