The last opportunity to see Sheldon Museum of Art’s fall exhibitions is Dec. 31.

Sheldon will be closed New Year’s Day and from Jan. 2-16 for the installation of new exhibitions.
Sheldon schedules its exhibitions to coincide with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s academic calendar, changing out exhibitions between semesters. The spring exhibition schedule includes:
- “Original Behavior” — A small group of large works by artists who share an affinity for depicting the figure in a cartoonish, comic style. Featured painters include Peter Saul, Robert Colescott and Carroll Dunham.
“Donald Sultan: The Disaster Paintings” — An in-depth examination of industrial landscapes by Donald Sultan, a painter, sculptor and printmaker regarded for his large-scale still life artworks. He is also noted for a significant series of industrial landscapes he began in the early 1980s. This is a national touring exhibition organized by the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas.
“Sheldon Treasures” — An ongoing, rotating gallery installation that highlights some of the museum’s most important and best-known artworks.
“Re-seeing the Permanent Collection” — Sheldon’s permanent collection galleries which explore unique ideas and installations to give visitors the chance to see and experience artworks in new ways.
