Sheldon Museum of Art partnered with University Dining Services to bring artist Ken Friedman’s 1967 event score Twenty Gallons to life Dec. 5, turning a simple meal into a shared artistic experience.
Twenty Gallons is rooted in Fluxus traditions, an art movement that emphasizes participation and everyday actions.
Visitors to the Sheldon Museum received free soup and bread, while students with university meal plans were served soup at campus dining centers, extending the artwork beyond the museum walls.
Participants also had the opportunity to win a framed event score from Sheldon’s exhibition "Ken Friedman: 92 Events."
