Registration open for next round of Google Career Certificates

Varner Hall

Varner Hall, home of the University of Nebraska system offices and the NU Board of Regents.

The University of Nebraska is continuing its partnership with Google to offer microcredential courses to students, faculty, staff and all Nebraskans looking to upskill with the third cycle of its Google Career Certificates program.

The program launched its first and second cohorts in August and December 2024, respectively, and has seen 1,285 enrollments to date. Registration is open for the new cycle, with courses beginning April 1.

The flexible, online certificate programs are available in nine high-demand fields — including cybersecurity, IT support, data analytics and business intelligence. Whether looking to expand skill sets, enhance a resume or explore new career opportunities, the certificates provide a fast and affordable way to grow.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and all Nebraska residents can enroll at a discounted rate of $20 per course. Courses are designed to be completed in four months, allowing participants to gain valuable credentials at a comfortable pace. Students can use the certificates to supplement their university education, and faculty can integrate Google content into coursework. Each cycle offers 2,500 seats, so early registration is encouraged.

Faculty interested in incorporating Google content into courses should contact Ana Lopez Shalla at analopezshalla@nebraska.edu for more details.
