Registration is open for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries’ fifth annual Family History Day, scheduled for June 8 with the theme “Breaking Brick Walls.”

The free public event will be in the 102 Auditorium in Love Library South. Seating is limited, so registration is required. Register here.

Family History Day starts at 8:30 a.m. with a session for people new to searching their family history. Other topics presented in the day-long program will include tax records, cemetery records and two case studies — one involving how to search through common names, and the other on Missouri River steamboat captains and crew members.

Participants can attend the entire day or specific sessions. They can bring a lunch or dine at a nearby restaurant. Free parking will be available in the A and F3 lots east of Memorial Stadium. A full program and registration information are available at the website above. Contact Regina Flowers, rflowers3@unl.edu, with questions about registration.

To ask about accessibility and request accommodations for the event, contact Donna Carstens in the Libraries Dean’s Office at 402-472-2526 or dcarstens1@unl.edu. Two weeks’ notice is preferred for most requests.
