The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been cited by the Princeton Review as one of the nation’s top colleges for delivering return on investment to students.
The rating is based upon the university’s challenging academics, its affordability, and strong career prospects for its graduates.
“This is another example of the university being recognized for what it does best: providing an outstanding and affordable education to students from Nebraska and beyond,” said Amber Williams, assistant vice chancellor for enrollment management. “Students who attend Nebraska receive a cost-effective education that helps them reach their individual goals and connect to careers that make a difference in the world.”
Nebraska “challenges students and gives them the best opportunity to succeed,” according to the profile included in the Princeton Review’s 2018 edition of “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck,” released Jan. 16. The 200 schools included in the volume were chosen from more than 650 evaluated by The Princeton Review.
The university is the only institution from Nebraska to be included in the volume and one of only 21 to be listed from Nebraska and neighboring states. No colleges from Wyoming, South Dakota or Kansas were included on the list.
The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep and college admissions services company that annually publishes a number of college guides, such as “Colleges That Create Futures.” Its headquarters are in New York City. It is not affiliated with Princeton University.
“We salute the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and all of our ‘Colleges That Pay You Back’ schools,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s editor-in-chief and lead author of the book. “They stand out for their outstanding academics and their affordability via generous financial aid to students with need and/or comparatively low sticker prices. Students at these colleges also have access to extraordinary career services from their freshman year on, plus a lifetime of valuable alumni support.”
