Mueller Planetarium at the University of Nebraska State Museum in Morrill Hall will light up with laser light shows April 12 and 13.
Brilliant laser graphics and abstract images set to the hits of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and current pop hits will fill Nebraska’s first fulldome digital projection theater in separate shows:
April 12:
7 p.m. — “Laser Beatles” (40 minutes), featuring 15 classics, such as “Hard Day’s Night,” “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” “Yesterday” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” this is considered the most spellbinding Beatles laser show.
8 p.m. — “Laser Led Zeppelin” (45 minutes). Transcend time and space with laserized versions of classic Zeppelin such as “Immigrant Song,” “Over the Hills and Far Away,” “Heartbreaker,” “Rock and Roll,” “Dazed and Confused” and, of course, “Stairway to Heaven.”
9 p.m. — “Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon” (43 minutes - not suitable for children). Embark on an out-of-body experience as dazzling lasers visually interpret Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” Drift weightlessly among haunting laser landscapes and 3-D laser renderings as you experience such classics as “Money,” “Time” and “Us and Them” like never before. The show is the entire classic album interpreted in laser light.
April 13:
2 and 3 p.m. — “Laser Mania” (40 minutes). Enjoy a pure sensory adrenaline rush with a collection of the most current rock and pop hits available in any laser show on the planet. “Laser Mania” is the pinnacle of high energy laser light shows.
